Notchet
Everything you copy, one notch away.
A clipboard manager that lives in the MacBook notch. Notchet keeps everything you copy, text, images, links, colours and files, and drops out of the notch when you press Option Command V or rest the pointer there. Pick a card and it pastes right where you were.
v1.0.4 · 2.6 MB zip · macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Apple silicon and Intel
What it does
Your clipboard, under the notch
Keeps every copy
Text, rich text, links, colours, images and files, in a history you can search. Command 1 to 9 paste the first nine.
Opens from the notch
Press Option Command V, rest the pointer on the notch, or click the menu bar icon. Or have it open right next to the pointer.
Pastes where you were
Pick a card and press Return. Pick several and paste them all at once, or one by one with Option Return. Drag cards into any app.
Reads the text in pictures
Search finds words inside screenshots and photos, and Copy Text in Image pulls them out as plain text.
Your iPhone copies too
What you copy on your iPhone or iPad arrives through Universal Clipboard, photos included, marked with a phone badge.
Private by design
Passwords from password managers are never saved, your history stays on this Mac, and you can ignore apps or pause saving.

Install
Three steps and you are done
Signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens like any other app.
Download and unzip
Double-click the downloaded zip in your Downloads folder, then drag Notchet into your Applications folder.
Open it and follow the setup
Notchet asks for Accessibility once, so it can paste into the app you were in, asks whether to open at login, and offers a short tour of the shelf.
Copy something, then press Option Command V
The shelf drops out of the notch with what you copied. Everything works for 7 days. After that, buy it once inside the app and paste the license key from your email.
Privacy
Permissions, and what it does with them
- Your clipboard history stays on this Mac. The only thing Notchet ever sends is your license key, to check it.
- Copies that password managers mark as secret are never saved.
- Ignore any app, or pause saving from the menu bar whenever you like.
- Signed with my Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

Release notes
What changed
v1.0.4Oct 8, 2026
- Compact cards: smaller cards, six to a row, so more of your history fits on screen. Turn it on in Settings, Opening.
- The shelf always grows straight out of the notch and folds back into it, and the notch keeps its rounded corners.
- A What's New window after each update, and a Buy button in the shelf during the free week.
v1.0.3Oct 8, 2026
- Updates now show in the notch: what's new, the download's progress, and a note when it's done. New versions are found within the hour, or as soon as your Mac wakes.
v1.0.2Oct 8, 2026
- Dragging a file card into a chat or message box attaches the file, like a drag from Finder, instead of typing its name.
v1.0.1Oct 8, 2026
- Updates itself: new versions can install automatically, or a dot on the menu bar icon tells you one is out. Switch it on or off in Settings.
v1.0.0Oct 7, 2026
- First release: clipboard history in the notch, paste several at once or one by one, text in pictures, snippets, collections and iPhone copies.
- Free for 7 days, then $2.99 once, on up to 2 Macs.
