Privacy Policy

Last updated October 11, 2026

This policy covers this website (aqibjaved.dev) and my Mac apps: Notchet, DisplayShift and Scrollwise. The short version: the apps have no accounts, no analytics and no tracking, and what you do in them stays on your Mac.

The Mac apps

  • No account, no analytics, no telemetry and no ads in any app.
  • Notchet keeps your clipboard history on your Mac. It is never uploaded.
  • DisplayShift stores your saved layouts on your Mac, with a hash of each window title instead of the title itself.
  • Scrollwise sees scroll and touch events only, never keystrokes, and stores nothing but its own preferences.
  • Every app checks this website for updates. That request carries the usual details any web request does (your IP address and the app's version) and nothing about how you use the app.

Licenses and payments

Notchet and DisplayShift are sold through Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the merchant of record. Polar processes your payment, sends your receipt and license key, and handles taxes and refunds under its own privacy policy. I never see your card details.

When you activate a license key, the app sends the key and your Mac's name to Polar so you can see and remove your activated Macs. The app re-checks the key every few days. I can see the email address you bought with, so I can help with license problems.

This website

  • Visit counts come from GoatCounter, which uses no cookies and does not track you across sites. I see page views, referring sites, browser and country, not who you are.
  • Downloads are counted the same way, without personal data.
  • The site is hosted on Netlify, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security and operations.
  • If you use the contact or feedback form, what you type (including your email, if you give it) is stored in Netlify Forms and emailed to me through FormSubmit. I use it only to reply to you.

Sharing and selling

I don't sell or rent personal data, and I don't share it with anyone except the services named above, which need it to do their job.

Your choices

You can ask me to see or delete anything you sent through a form, or the email linked to your license, by writing to the address below. Deleting the app and its preferences removes everything it stored on your Mac.

Children: the apps and this site are not aimed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version goes on this page with a new date at the top.
